AMAT
HISTORY

REGION
Las Violetas, Canelones, Uruguay
VARIETAL COMPOSITION
100% Tannat
WINEMAKING
Destemmed and crushed from previously selected bunches harvested by hand. Fermentation lasted 14 days at 22-25ºC in stainless steel tanks. At the end of the alcoholic fermentation, it was passed to 50% American and 50% French oak barrels, where the spontaneous malolactic fermentation occurred, and where it rested for 18 months. Bottled with minimal manipulation, it was then aged in the bottle for an additional year in our cellars.
TASTING NOTE
Aged red wine. Intense cherry red color. Aromas of raspberry, prunes and cassis combined with subtle oak, provide complex flavors and notes of chocolate, vanilla and black pepper. Firm structure, with still alive acidity which provides elegance and length to the palate. Ripe and sweet tannins with a dry finish, which will develop well over time, thus achieving a more velvety style. Ideal to pair with roasted red meats, charcuterie and strong cheeses. This wine can be kept in the bottle for more than 10 years. Serve at 18ºC.
