JUAN CARRAU Merlot de Reserva
Over the last 40 years, Bodegas Carrau has studied and identified the best blocks for each variety of grape in Las Violetas. These are obtained due to ideal conditions that occur in our vineyards, where the best aromas and flavours were achieved for each variety.
Las Violetas, Canelones, Uruguay
The grapes are harvested by hand and transported in 16 kg crates. Then they are selected and vinified with a 2-days short maceration at low temperature and then fermented in stainless steel tanks at 22ºC. Finally, it rests for 10 months in oak barrels.
Aged red wine, with aromas of prune, currants and spices. A balance between oak notes and varietal aromas, make it a delicate but intense wine at the same time. In the mouth, medium acidity with round tannins. Ideal to accompany lasagna, roasted vegetables and casserole chicken. Serve at 18ºC.
